Open Position: Sign Painter

We are currently seeking a talented and highly skilled Sign Painter to join our team in High Springs, FL (just outside of Gainesville).  As a sign painter, you will be responsible for preparing and executing the finishing on signs, by mixing paint and applying it via various methods to achieve the design intent and quality standards.  Your work will be seen in theme parks, museums and other experience venues throughout the world.

Desired qualifications for this position include the following:

  • Proven experience in high-end sign painting, with a portfolio showcasing your work
  • Proficient in spray applied finishes, using masks, hand brush work, line art, and various painting techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in lettering, gradients, body color and clearcoats
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines
  • Familiarity with sign industry standards and practices
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and make necessary adjustments to artwork
  • Proficiency in hand-lettering a plus

Requirements:

  • Collaborate with the design team and production management to understand the requirements for signage projects
  • Prepare and prime sign surfaces for painting, ensuring they are clean, smooth, and ready for artwork
  • Mix and match colors, including catalyzed paint systems, to achieve desired hues and shades
  • Use various painting techniques and tools to produce high-quality hand-painted signs, murals, and artwork
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in lettering, graphics, spacing, and overall design
  • Work with different types of surfaces and materials, including walls, wood, glass, metal, and plastic
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and maintenance of painting tools and supplies
  • Follow safety guidelines and best practices while working with paints, solvents, and other materials
  • Motivated to continually develop technical knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to handle and lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
